About

Kia ora, I'm Rachael, a people-first digital systems consultant who helps non-profits, small organisations, and purpose-driven businesses untangle complicated processes and disconnected systems.

My superpower? I can look at your tangled mess of workflows, outdated software, and paper-based processes and quickly see a path forward that's practical, affordable, and actually works for your people.

Born from my own neurodiversity (hello ADHD and dyslexia!) and years of helping organisations transform, I bring a unique perspective that cuts through complexity to find simple solutions that stick.

What makes me different?

I’m not your typical consultant. I don’t charge a fortune, drop a complicated system on your desk, and disappear. Instead, I’m like a Swiss Army knife, practical, adaptable, and committed to making your systems work better for you, not the other way around. I speak human, not tech jargon, and I find solutions that actually fit your budget (like when I swapped a $100,000 solution for one that cost just $5,000).

What’s important to me? Empowering your team, not creating dependency. I’m all about fairness, justice, and cutting through unnecessary red tape. I get frustrated with solutions that don’t solve the real problem, and I’m driven by working with organisations that share my values, those that are focused on helping people, giving back, and making a positive impact.

My Story

My Story

My journey didn't start in technology, in fact, I failed IT in school! (My teacher wrote "Rachael's not taking this seriously" on my report card and I spent much time in detention. How ironic that I'm now a tech nerd who loves finding solutions.)

Life took me from administrative roles in banking and local government to the Ministry of Justice, where I discovered my knack for simplifying complex systems. I even served as a Criminal Registrar, which fueled my passion for understanding how things work (and maybe my love for true crime podcasts, yikes).

Before stepping into leadership and consultancy, I built a strong foundation through various operational roles, working as an Executive Assistant across local government, AA Insurance, and ANZ Bank. In every role, I didn't just keep things ticking along, I paid close attention to how systems really worked (and where they didn't), how people responded to change, and where there were chances to do things better.

Through working at Councils, insurance companies, banks, as the General Manager of a national professional body, and ultimately leading change and transformation in the early childhood space, I developed a reputation for seeing patterns others missed and finding practical solutions to messy problems.

I've transformed paper-based systems into streamlined digital processes, created intranets, established event management systems, implemented compliance and CRM solutions, and built dashboards that turn data into stories. You name it, I've done it.

I've walked in your shoes. I've felt the frustration of systems that don't talk to each other, of quotes that make you gasp, and of feeling stuck between what is and what could be. Now I'm dedicated to helping organisations like yours untangle their systems so they can focus on their purpose, not their paperwork.

Our Approach

Step 1: Get to Know You & Your Challenges

First, we take time to understand your organisation—your purpose, challenges, current systems, and where you want to go. We'll listen to your team's pain points, observe your workflows, and get a feel for your culture. Our goal is to understand not just what's not working, but why it matters.

Step 2: Untangle the
Mess

We'll map out your current systems and processes, identifying where things get stuck, disconnect, or create unnecessary work. We'll figure out what's worth keeping, what needs tweaking, and what should be completely reimagined.

Step 3: Find Practical Solutions That Fit

Together, we'll explore options that align with your needs and budget. We promise to be direct about what will work and what won't. You'll get clear recommendations with practical next steps that won't require a second mortgage. We'll make sure you understand the options in plain language, not tech jargon.

Step 4: Make It Happen & Build Your Capability

We don't just implement and disappear. We'll help your team build confidence with new systems through training, support, and creating resources they'll actually use. Our goal is for your team to feel empowered, not dependent on us.

Step 5: Check In & Tune Up

Systems evolve, and so should your solutions. We'll check in on what's working, make adjustments, and ensure your organisation continues to grow with confidence.

Throughout this journey, our focus is on practical solutions that free your organisation to focus on its purpose, not its paperwork. And we promise to bring a bit of humor along the way, because technology doesn't have to be so serious!
